Great until the bolt snaps

ConsRisks sudden collapse when loaded up as it misses out on an easy security feature
Prosneat, easy to use
Fits and works well, makes fitting the bag to the bagman clamp easier. But it holds the weight twice the distance from the bolt that the basic bagman clamp does, giving twice the strain - and the tiny cross section of the black section around the saddle bars then makes this a bending force on the bolt. It needs another support clamping from near the top bend of the silver support through to the bagman clamp - easy to design and make in a factory, harder to improvise at home- which would greatly increase its robustness. Otherwise you risk ruining a weekend away when the whole luggage system fails and you have to string it over your shoulder!
Stronger than it might look.

ConsWeak bolt
ProsGood quality
The product itself is very well built and feel sturdy.

I use it in combination with my 23 liters carradice super c saddle bag.

However after 4000 kms, the bolt snapped, rendering the whole support useless (I had to fix it up with zip ties).

Witch version is better with Brooks B67?
By
23 Jul 2019
Hello I use a Brooks B67 Saddle with high springs and I am wondering how will this affect the height of the support? I want to use this with a Camper Long Flap, should I go with the standard version that is shorter as the spring will make up the hight difference?
Hi there,

As the bagman rack attaches to the saddle rails, the springs should not make a huge amount of difference, as long as you have clearance at the bottom of the rack. If this is a concern we would recommend you go for the sport version as it is a little shorter than the expedition.

Thanks.

Bagman support size

Dear sir:
I want to buy camper & barely together. Which size of bagman support could fit both better?
The Camper is suitable for the Expedition sized Bagman, and the Barley is suitable for the Sport size Bagman.

Thanks
Will this work with the Carradry 15litre saddlebag

Hi,

Can you tell me the spec (diameter, length) for the main allen bolt for this support please? I need to replace the bolt as the last one rounded out very quickly!

Thanks.
Hi,

The main fixing bolt is M8 x 22mm.

Thanks.
Compatible With Charge Spoon Saddle
By
22 May 2017
Is this compatible with a Charge Spoon Saddle? Will there be any additional issues using it on a Carbon Framed Road Bike with an aluminium seat post? What is the minimum distance required between the rails and rear wheel?

Thanks!
Hi,

This should be fine for use with your saddle providing you have enough of the parallel section of the rails available for the clamp. As the rack sits 20cm tall you would need at least this distance plus a small amount extra clearance to cope with the angle it would sit at.

Thanks.
Do These Include The Additional Support Rails?
By
20 Sep 2016
I've seen these with additional support rails onto a normal pair of rack mounts on the seat stays. Do these come with this?
Hi,

These are not designed to come with additional support rails, they do not actually require them. It was the older now discontinued version that was weaker so came with and require additional support rails.

Thanks.
Is This Support Compatible With Sprung Brooks Saddles Like The Flyer Or Conquest?
By
10 Aug 2016
I have a Brooks Conquest saddle and a Carradice Cadet saddlebag and wish to install a bagman support onto my touring bike.
Hi, this is the correct Bagman as listed by Carradice that you will need to fit when using the Carradice Cadet saddlebag. Regards

is this fixing system suitable with a brompton saddle thank you
Hi,

Brompton saddles use standard rails so as long as you have a enough space on the rails then yes you can fit this to a Brompton saddle.

Thanks.
