Direct replacement for Carradice C-System Pannier Hooks
The spring loaded Quick-Clip Pannier System means that the pannier can simply be dropped onto the rack and rests on the hooks. A sprung catch captures the rack tube from underneath and prevents the panniers from jumping off. To release, the catch is operated either by the thumb or an attached strap.
2 catch and 4 hooks supplied - enough for one pair of panniers

ProsCan be retro fitted to old style bags with aluminium rails

Bought these clips to replace the old style hooks after one hook had broken due to the pannier jumping off the rack yet again. These are a huge improvement, securing the pannier much more securely and removing the anxiety of having to to pick your battered bag off the road again after going over a speed bump!

Prosinexpensive and easy to fit

So impressed that Carradice have a mounting system that has unchanged for years. I upgraded the fixings for an old set of panniers with the added benefit of a locking hook to keep them secure.

I've used the hooks for 1980s panniers on which the hooks have been replaced least twice before. There are now inserts on the hooks for different cross section racks but there does not appear to any method for adjusting the spring clip, which with the inserts I used, left the bag a little loose. I found using one of the old hooks, which includes a clip, holds the bag tighter than the new clip.

ProsAbility to re-use my old panniers

Excellent product for updating our very old SuperC panniers.
The old clips were breaking regularly and I wasn't hopeful these would fit given the age of the bags, but I needn't have worried as the aluminium runner hasn't altered, so it was an easy replacement.
The new system is much better when fitting the bag to the rack. The sprung loaded red one clip now holding it in place.

pannier hook insert removal

Hi, my pannier hooks came with the 8 mm inserts already installed, these fitted my old rack fine. Recently got a new rack with thicker tubes - what's the best way to remove the inserts please? They seem pretty solidly fitted, so don't want to damage them. Thank you

We have found a small thin bladed screwdriver to gently prise the clips out works best, same as the Ortleib clips. SK 18/01/24

Do you think these hooks will work with a HapG pannier ?

We can't confirm that these hooks will fit a HapG Pannier as we don't have one to check. The largest round tube they will fit is 11 mm.

Rail for this hooks

Hello, where I can get a rail for this hooks? It looks like simple alu profile from DIY store can fit to this hooks)

Thank you for your enquiry. Unfortunately the rail that these clips slide into is not available as a spare I'm afraid, its a metal rail that is fixed to Carradice bags but cannot be removed.

I have made a pannier from oak and leather and I am looking for a quick release method of fitting It to my rear cycle rack. The clips would be great but even better if you sell the channel too.

We have Carradice Carradry Rear Panniers with the old type clips - A couple of which have broken. Can they be replaced with the quick clip system?

The metal rail that is on the bag should be the same dimensions so you should be fine to replace your broken clips with this Quick Clip system.

Will These Fit A Birdy Expedition Rack?

I'm trying to use my Carradice bags with a Birdy Expedition rack, but the rack is too thick at 16mm Will these fit on the rack rails?

Unfortunately the largest diameter rack tubing these can fit to is 14mm, this is the same for all of the Carradice hooks we have I'm afraid.
