These mudguards use the standard fitting to frames/forks with mudguard eyelets.

Please note that these are the SHORT version of these mudguards & are the same length as the SKS Chromoplastic Mudguards

I recommend this product

Look solid and should last. However, pre drilled holes did not align with stays. Plastic attachment points to frame are a concern. Very minimal movement and easy to adjust.

I have these on 2 bikes and would not now use any other, will certaintly never to back to chromoplastic. These look great and are really solid once fitted and light too

ConsTake care that you order extra fixings if you need them.

ProsErato quality, look fab

Really add a touch of class to your bike. Require a bit of care to fit, and check if you need any additional fixings. I needed a rear brake bridge fitting which I didn't realise until I was trying to fit them. This does require some drilling of the mudguards but is quite simple.

Prossolid, shiny, well made

these are incredibly well made, immensely solid, beautiful guards, and not much heavier than plastic ones.

They are a bit of a faff to fit, you need to drill holes in the rear guard and attach the stays yourself, but hopefully now it's done they'll last forever!

Short or long for 23" frame 1980's Raleigh sports?

Hi, I'm looking to replace my beaten old mudguards on my classic Raleigh. Old mudguards are locking with brakes on the top. I too a ruler and measured current one at approximately 45mm. Tire size is 26 x 1 3/8.

Sadly we have no way to confirm the fitting of these on your frame, we would suggest looking at people who have restored the same bike and see what they have used before.

Will they fit my Thorn Raven 611s running
26" x 1.50 schwalbe marathon plus tiers and will I need to buy any other parts to help with fitting.

Hi, yes but you will need to modify the fitting at the fork crown to make them fit. You may a bolt and extra spacers depending on your current set up. Thanks 16/07/2019

Short Vs Long Version?

Please advise how I decide between short and long versions of Gilles Berthoud 26 inch Stainless Steel Mudguards to fit 26 inch x 42 tyre (559 x 42).

Hi,

The rear guard on the short and long sets are the same length it is only the front that is different. The front guard on the long is 140mm longer than the short.
