My favorite rims

I recommend this product
ConsCD version does not brake well and after use looks shoddy
ProsConversion to tubeless is easy
My favorite rims. So far I have converted 3 sets to tubeless with no problems with achieving airtight status before sealant added. Mounting tubeless tyres is easy, easier than with other rims with tubeless ready design.

Is spoke length requirement the same as for the pre-2017 rims which were 4mm narrower?
By Henry Adams

I would like to purchase 2 of the 32 hole rims, but before doing so I need to know whether they fit the same spoke lengths as for the pre-2017 versions which were 15mm internal width instead of the 19mm internal width of the recent versions (as stated on your webpage).
Or to put it simpler: do the 2017-onwards rims differ just in width not depth?
(I usually rebuild my Open-Pro rim wheels myself & my DT Swiss spokes go on and on from rim to rim without any breaking)

SJS Customer Service:
There are two ERD's listed for the Open Pro, the newer version uses an ERD of 602mm the older looks to be 604mm, we recommend fresh spokes are fitted as they do fatigue over time. SK 21/03/23
Alternative rim in silver
By James White

Hi, I have these rims in 36hole silver, fitted to my xt rear hub and son delux front hub. I want to do a straight swap without unlacing the hubs - can you suggest a suitable silver alternative so I don’t need to replace the spokes?
Many thanks
James

SJS Customer Service:
Sadly not, anything apart from a 1:1 replacement will require new spokes.

Hi - interested in the 36h version of this rim. What spoke length would I need to fit a 11 speed Shimwno 105 5800 hub?
SJS Customer Service:
We have not built that combination before; it will need to be calculated - https://www.prowheelbuilder.com/spokelengthcalculator
this will tell you which measurements you require; The ERD is 602mm.

Mavic recommend rim tape 18mm in width but you quote 16mm?

I realise it's not expensive to buy both and then chose the most suitable, but just wondered why.

Hmm...the infoe we have was clearly copied from Mavic said when we first listed the rim, it seems that now their information has changed, in all honesty it won't probably matter, why not go 1/2 way and order SJSC Reinforced Nylon Rim Tape - 700c 622 x 17mm - Grey (SJS Cycles part number : 23277) RT 22/04/2020

Am fitting a motor into a new Tandem front wheel 36 hole in black with rim braking, would prefer an aero style to match the rear wheel. What suggestions ?
SJS Customer Service:
We would really look towards a Ryde - SJS Cycles part number : 23180BLK36
The Mavic option would be - SJS Cycles part number : 39186H36

Hi, I'm struggling to find precise measurements so I calculate what length spokes I need. Could you help? I plan to use hope rs4 rear hub (130mm) 32 spokes, 3x. Could you tell me what length spokes I'd need for both sides please for use with this rim? Many thanks
SJS Customer Service:
Hello,
The gear side spoke length you would need is 291mm and the Non-Gear side length would be 294mm.
Thanks.
