Like another person has mentioned, I don't think the ERD is 398, particularly since it even says on the advert that it is 393. I measured it at 394, and got it to replace a rim who's ERD was397, and found i had to grind down the protruding spokes.

ConsUneven braking surface - sometimes

ProsGood value

Although this is only a single wall rim, with no eyelets, it is tough enough for use on a trike where there are more side forces than normal. I have used several of these rims and found them trouble free even when touring with a load. They are more suitable for use with hub or disc brakes than rim brakes, as the join in the rim is sometimes uneven.

This rim replaced an existing damaged rim on a child's mountain style bike. Built up easily and is good basic value.

Tyres are usually given a sizeof xx-406, such as 40-406. Whats value is xx for this rim?

I have an electric bike with a damaged rim, the rim is used for the standard brakes, it is marked as 406 x 20C, is yours suitable please?

This is not a formally E-bike-rated rim, however, it is the same size as you have stated.

Is it possible that the ERD of this rim is 390mm?
