The Flyer and its ladies model Flyer S are classically sprung saddles for long distance trekking and touring. It is directly descending from the B66 Champion, first featured in the 1927 catalogue. Sharing the same leather tops of the B17 models, they combine the comfort of these popular models with the extra suspension granted by two rear springs. Both are available with tubular steel rivets or with hand hammered copper rivets under the names of Flyer Special and Flyer S Special.

ConsBit of breaking in but soon done

ProsComfort - definitely Ride - excellent Style - timeless

Don't know if it is age or just a desire for the better things in life, but after years of bum ache from some very expensive (£150) gel saddles on carbon frames with titanium rails I found the holy grail again with Brooks.
Usually the B17 of which I have three but having just bought an expensive touring e-bike I wanted something to sit on that catered for the more upright position. I elected to give the FLYER a go. After one month and 300 miles in snow ,rain and a bit of sun, I am sticking with the flyer. Bedding in nicely - having giving top and underside a good proof hide ing to begin with.
Would I go back to gel? NOT ON YOUR LIFE. I now have five Brooks saddles - says it all!! QUALITY is everything and this saddle has it all

This Brooks sprung saddle has transformed the ride of my Brompton Electric, which rides with minimum flexibility and has rigid front forks, so every jolt is massive. London's battered roads had meant riding off the saddle much of the time. With the sprung Brooks much of the discomfort has gone. Just need Brompton to add front suspension to their e-bike.
