Brooks Nylon Serigraph Rain Saddle Cover - Black

I recommend this product

Bought the large size for our Brooks Flyer saddles. The bigger size is better as it can be used to cover the springs as well as the saddle and allows air to circulate at the same time.
Can’t comment yet on durability but looks far stronger than our previous Brooks covers which basically fell apart!

Looks good does what it is supposed to do

Used on a 12 year old Brooks B17 Champion (larger version). 1st day very humid and after the ride I maybe put this on a bit early and didn't let the saddle dry out from my sweat. It did rain really heavy that night and in the morning I took it off to find my saddle totally soaked!

2nd day dry sunny, saddle dried out minus whatever sweat I had induced during the 6 hour ride. Left saddle for 4-5 hours in 28 degree sun before I put the cover on. Woke up in the morning to find the saddle soaked again and it didn't even rain!

Next evening I decided to use a simple plastic bag instead and guess what? It worked as intended and the saddle was dry, I guess due to there actually being some air flow getting in there?

If you intend on using this for keeping your saddle dry overnight I would rethink your purchase.

Saddle is now wrecked...

I have a number of Brooks saddles with a couple of their rain covers with drawstring and velcro fastening. Good quality waterproof material - even used to cover saddle while riding in downpours - no problems
This by comparison looks cheap, feels cheap and I would be reluctant to rely on this to protect £140 of leather saddle in drizzle let alone real rain of which there is a fair bit here in Scotland
I just use it for keeping dust off the saddle when in the shed

Invaluable but of kit for me. I commute to work and store my bike in a steel bike safe box. This is terrible for condensation dripping all over my bike. Without the Brooks saddle cover my leather B17 would be ruined.

These Brooks saddle covers are a must, you should keep one in your saddle bag, pocket, duffle bag, at all times.
If you know, or have an idea we are in for a wet time, then put it on your saddle when you leave your bicycle somewhere, and then if it has been raining, simply remove it, and you have a dry saddle to cycle back home with.
It also stops a leather saddle from becoming wet, and damaging the leather.

The smaller size does not keep the rain out, go for the bigger one which takes up little more room and is more effective.
