Constwo shims or a wider seat tube might be better

The bike that needs this is a poor design - the shim is so thick that it needs a lot of pressure on the seat pin bolt to make it tighten. So the bolt wears out, and needs two tools to tighten it, and adjusting seat height on a 'unisize' bike frame is difficult.

Not quite the correct size - will it do?

I'm restoring my "very" early Moulton APB - one of the first produced. The original seat-post measures 35mm give or take 0.1mm or so. Should I order this one or or would I be safer with the "USE Seatpost Shim 31.6mm/34.9mm"?

Hello- Im afraid we cannot advise with regards to this- this will depend entirely on how accurately you have measured your seat post. In this case- we would suggest consulting a local cycle shop as some in person evaluation will be required to work out what will be the safest option.

Will this work with the 31.8 ?

This shim takes 27.2mm post to 34.8 frame therefore will not work with 31.8mm

Hi- I would like to fit a 27.2 seatpost onto a Scott Scale, which is meant for 34.9 mm seatpost.

Would this suit to adapt?

Hi,

We do not currently stock a shim for 27.2-34.9mm, the one you have chosen would be slightly too small and mean the seat clamp would have to over clamp the frame.

i have a moulton APB 94 would like to go with the Thomson seatpost 31.6 or at least 30.9 mm cause go from 34.8 to 27.2mm looks like ... to thin billyboy..

Unfortunately this is the only shim we are able to get hold of with a 34.8mm external diameter.
