Polyax Nipples The rounded design of the Patented Polyax nipple head reduces the stresses produced by axial and lateral forces (inherent in wheels with low spoke counts and crossings). Polyax nipples re-align themselves within a rim hole up to 9 degrees in a radial direction and 6 deg in an axial direction, making for a much superior fit.

... they're brass spoke nipples and they work. While slightly heavier than alloy, you avoid problems with corrosion and heads that hear off.

I generally use another well know brand of nipple to build wheels but these sapim nipples were clearly well made an very easy to tension. I’m going to use their spokes in my next build.

ProsObviously good quality. Easy to align without causing spoke distortion
Have at last got round to building a wheel with these nipples. They really are excellent, articulate very well on multi-cross (x3 and x4) applications without putting a bending load on the spoke.

Hi, Sorry if this is a dumb question.

In the drop down 'Length' option box it shows options of 12, 14, or 16. Is that actually the overall length of the spoke nipples or is the gauge of the spokes they're for?
