Fiber Fix Emergency Replacement Spoke

I used this once, and it worked.... just. However, I frayed the end of the cable so using it for a second time was impossible. My solution was to apply a small heat-shrunk wrapper to the end. This works nicely. I suggest this as a product improvement.

I haven't had to use it yet but it's good to know that it's in the saddle bag just in case, small and compact so easy to store and carry but as others have said familiarise your self with the instructions beforehand.

I used one of these in an emergency when two spokes broke. Took a while but worked perfectly, although it's stronger than you might realise.

Get one just in case ...

Works very well as a temporary (get you out of trouble) spoke repair. I had to use it on the drive side rear but managed to thread the end through the hub spoke hole without too much difficulty - although the end does fray. Small package to take with you in a tube measuring about 50 mm length by 25mm diameter.

Bought one of these many years ago and never used. Just been on tour with a heavy bike with disc brakes and broke a spoke. Fitted the Kevlar spoke and the wheel was OK for a further 200m until I returned home. Bit fiddly to fit but IT WORKED!!. Had a spare spoke with me but couldn't fit as the disc first had to be removed with a special tool/socket.

For a small price and in a small package, this emergency spoke kit gives peace of mind. On a recent tour when there were some pinging sound coming from the front wheel I kept thinking that I should have bought this before the tour (turned out to be a faulty bearing). Recommended.

Seems like an indispensable piece of kit on tours. I have yet to use mine, but it seems very simple to install. As said above, better to have it and not need it than to not have it at all. Probably useful for long day rides too, packs small in a corner of your on bike tool kit.

as it says on the tin, Ideal for a quicl fix for all MBL or TCL qualified guides, or just for bragging rights, hope you never need it. Rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it I suppose.
