Can I use this sprocket for brompton bwr 6 speed rear hub?
By Anonymous
27 May 2019
This 12t sprocket, can I use it for my brompton 6 speed bwr hub? I remember my sprocket set was 13t and 16t. If I use 12t, will it compatible? A little different feeling while gearing up?
I want to buy some spare parts, this 12t sprocket pair with 16t, HSL968. Is it ok for brompton 6 speed bwr hub.
I want to buy some sprockets as spare parts for my brompton. Is there any 13t or 15t sprocket, you could recommend?
As I read in brompton data schematic, it could be any of 12t, 13t pairing with 15t, 16t sprocket for rear hub.
Thanks

SJS Customer Service:
If you want the ratio jumps to be even, use 13/16t. Using 12t will give a larger top gear, but will create uneven spacing.
12/16t is used on the 2 speed and would shift perfectly well.
13/15t was only used on SRAM hubs and we are not aware of any BWR compatible ones.
HSL968 would work, but it would be cheaper to get - SJS Cycles part number : 19455

Unfortunately this would not be suitable as your require a 3 spline fitting for that hub.
Thanks

Sturmey Archer 3 Lug Fitment Sprocket In 12T?
By David Hickson
31 May 2016
Got a Taska freecoaster which takes the standard sturmey archer 3 lug sprocket. I have one in 13t, but need a 12t. Are they available or can I file the Un needed lugs off of the 9 lug version you stock?
SJS Customer Service:
Hi,
We can't offer any sprockets smaller than 13T with the 3 notch fitting I'm afraid. You would not be able to file down one of the 9 spline sprockets because the sizing is different unfortunately.
Thanks.
