Hi - does this stem have a safety rating? it would be for a MTB.

Hi
Thank you for your enquiry. Ergotec rate this in their system as Level 3 which they say is too low for MTB usage, most of their products for MTB have a level of 5 or 6 for that usage.

Stem bolt and star nut

Given the shape of this stem, is there still a hole to run a bolt down to a star nut? If not, how do I pre-load the headset bearings?

Yes, as normal, there is a rubber cap that covers the hole.
