Stem clarification

Hi
I am looking to buy a replacement stem for my Dawes tandem which has become rusty after years of use.

Can you clarify what dimension is the length please. Is it the distance from the centre of the handle bars to centre of the fixing bolt or is how tall it is.

1" Quill Stems

How do I determine the reach of a stem from the data on your website? I take it the size refers to the maximum length from bar vertical centre to headset?
I currently have an ugly adjustable stem on my otherwise beautiful Mercian. Presently my bars are at about 110mm high, 100mm reach.

Hi,

The different lengths do refer to the length as apposed to the height. this means that this stem you have left this question on actually matches up pretty accurately to what you're looking for. The only slight I issue could be in the fact that the stem doe actually have a steeper angle than the picture makes it look, it has a 58 degree angle.
