Total length = 200mm, 50mm at the top is for fitting 28.6mm ahead stem, of the remaining length 130mm can go inside your head-tube, the min insert mark is 80mm from the bottom.

Weight - 266g

Note: This is for a 1" (25.4mm) fork with a 22.2mm internal diameter.

I bought this and a shorter, elevated stem as the original quill fitting was giving me neck-ache. Looks well made, easier to fit overall than the previous quill, and works well. It leaves 1/2” of post above the stem clamp, which looks a bit odd. Does the job well.

ProsPrice, well made, looks good.

Bought to raise the height of the handlebars to suit my ageing body! Allows the use of an aheadset stem. Have experienced a few creaks and squeaks, but I'm also using it with a shim on a 1x1/8th fork so that may not help. Not the lightest piece of kit, but seems well made. A much better option than buying a complete new fork to achieve a relativeley minor change.

ProsWell finished, strong and long

Used to adapt oversize 31.8 stem and bars to threaded 1inch headset. Looks and works well though had to refit and tighten after a few months to cure squeaks.

ProsClassical look, no spacers needed, space for putting a bell on

This is the perfect quill because I can use an ahead stem AND I can take the bell on it... No stupid spacers... just a clean elegant shape. There is nohing similar on the market!! Highly recommended

Info about the top cap

Hi does this come with a top cap that overlaps the stem that is mounted on the steerer column, i cant see any cap in the images. Do you have a photo of the top cap style that is used. many thanks

Length?

I bought this fadapter rom SJS. It works with my 1" head tube but does not insert as far down the tube as i would have wanted. It seems that the tube has a slight internal taper and the lower half is a narrower diameter than the top half. My bars are higher than i would want. Ideally I would want to lower the bars an additional 3cm/ 4cm.

Does this adapter come in a version with a shorter lower section?

Is it feasible to cut the end of the lower section shorter?

We could not advise sorry! Most spacers should sit flush / close to flush to the top anyway.

Basically doing a build of a track bike and would wish to know if...as traditionally the bike has always had a quill threaded headset,...could i then use a fork that has a 1inch steel threaded steerer with this adaptor together with a stem that is 1-1~8 clamp?

Can You Please Confirm This One Is An Alloy Part?

It would be crucial, that I get an aluminium part. Based on the picture this tube has quite thick walls, so I suppose it is made of an aluminium alloy. (As opposed to a simple steel tube.)
