The flare of this tool is not right and the edges that contact the cup are poor, so it most often slips on the cups, Some light bending of the ends has helped slightly but still we find this tool almost useless

This is obviously built to price. It's a good tool for those one off headset changes. How many of us do this everyday! I wouldn't want to use it all the time though, as it can seem a bit flimsy, if not set up right. Certainly better than a screwdriver, which I've seen people use in the past. You can end up scoring the bearing cup holder with those.
