IceToolz ISIS / Shimano Bottom Bracket Tool

Bought this for upcoming tours. Necessary for any long distance tourer to replace the bottom bracket. Good solid build and fits the Shimano bottom bracket very well.

The IceToolz BB tool is a well made 1/2" socket featuring 20 splines with a 31.6mm od and 26.3mm id, with an overall length of 51mm and about 10mm of square cut spline before the groove starts to chamfer as seen in the product pic above. It fits my 1999 Trek 7200 BB ok which I'm guessing is something like a Shimano UN54 because I haven't removed it yet and probably won't because although it's 12 years old it turns as smooth as anything. It was one of those if I don't buy the tool I'll need it and if I buy it I won't need it deals and I didn't want to pay the postage twice.

A very good tool. Splines go all the way to the end and do not chamfer like many tools of this sort, which in my experiences gives a far better bite. The ability to fit a 1/2" drive socket set straight onto the tool is very good in preventing the tool from slipping out as there is far greater control like this. It also means that you can use your 1/2" drive torque wrench straight onto the tool.
