Details
Removes and installs crank caps on Shimano HollowTech II cranks. Includes built in hook to lift the safety plate, speeding crank removal. Steel, investment cast body provides good leverage and includes an option to use with 8mm hex wrench for removing seized caps.

ConsNeed to be careful when re-installing cranks not to over-tension the bearings.
ProsMakes removing hollow tech cranks much, much easier.
The bearing tensioner on hollow tech bottom brackets seems easier to fasten with the normal plastic tools than undo. This leads to problems when you want to remove the cranks.
This tool makes the frustrating task a trivial one.
The standard plastic tensioning tool is intended to prevent you from over-tightening the bearing tensioner so you do need to be careful not to do so when re-installing the crank which would be all too easy using this tool.
