ConsPrice - but you get what you pay for these days.
ProsThe pleasure of using a tool perfectly suited to the job.
Although it's not obvious this tool has spring activated jaws. The spring is concealed in the head of the tool - brilliant bit of design but Park Tool don't even rate it a mention in the product information. I almost bought an alternative with poorer reviews because I thought this one was unsprung - glad I didn't.
A quality tool from a reputable manufacturer

I recommend this product
I'm glad I've got this tool now - previously I would grip a cable with pliers and cut it alongside the pliers with a hacksaw - a messy and inelegant solution! If you buy a brake cable with two alternative nipples, one at each end, you will need a quality tool to cut off the unwanted nipple without the cable fraying, so you can thread it through the tubes. By the same logic, a worn rear cable can be trimmed with quality cutters and re used as a front one.
