Details
The flat-less tyre for wheelchairs. The Marathon has become the absolute benchmark for puncture-resistant pneumatic tires on wheelchairs. The SmartGuard protection belt is made from a proportion of recycled natural rubber. The 'anti-aging' sidewall construction can withstand typical overloading caused by low inflation pressure for much longer.
Flat-Less: SmartGuard puncture protected wheelchair tires combine the comfort and light running of pneumatic tires with the puncture protection of PU tires.
2Grip: Hand-friendly tires. The side walls are completely smooth, so the tires glide silkily past the hands. Patent protected and standard on all Schwalbe wheelchair tires.
Black 'n' Roll: Wheelchairs with black tires? Schwalbe has made it possible. They've developed a special Black 'n' Roll compound that does not leave unsightly marks on indoor floors. Additionally it is far more robust and much longer lasting.
Note: Use a pressure gauge to adjust tyre pressures as the common 'thumb check' is insufficient due to the special contruction of the Marathon Plus.

Can I use this wheelchair wheel on a bike?
By Tim

Hello.
I have a folding touring bike with 24” wheels. However I want to try and find a tyre with a fast rolling performances and some grip off road. However the Marathon plus for a bicycle is 47-507 (24 x 1.75). This is just too wide on a 24” bike.
I notice that you do the same model as a wheelchair wheel in 25-540 (24 x 1.00) which I feel would be lighter and more in keeping. However do you feel this would be suitable for a bike rather than a wheelchair and similar performance to the larger marathon plus tyres made for bicycles?
Thanks
Tim

Hi there,
As long as the size of the tyre is what will fit, you should be able to use these without any issues.

Which Schwalbe Schrader Tube is compatible for this tyre?

In Schwalbe AV9A Schrader Tube review the customer wrote it is NOT compatble
SJS Customer Service:
Hi
The compatible tube for this tyre is the AV9A, unfortunately the customer on the review purchased the incorrect size for his tyre. Schwalbe state that the AV9A is correct for a tyre that is 25-540.
