High quality Brompton fitting front wheel which is lighter, stronger and faster than the original, a fantastic upgrade for your Brompton.

Brompfication, sealed bearing black alloy hub with allen key skewer built on to a black MiniMods rim with 144mm 14G black stainless steel spokes.

This wheel will fit Brompton front forks, it's lighter than the standard Brompton hub and has much lower rolling resistance.

Note: This wheel is not supplied with rim tape.

What surface treatment makes the braking surfaces black?

I really want my wheels to be all black but obviously there is no metal which is black all the way through. Surely this is just surface treated, and if so what material is used and how durable is it I am worried that before too long the wheels will look reallly tatty as the braking surfaces wear, defeating the main reason I want these (aesthetics)

You are absolutely correct, over time the rim surface coating will wear, only way to stop this is stop braking!
