SON 28 is a hub dynamo universally approved for all wheel sizes from 16" to 29". The rated output is achieved in the 700c (622)-wheel at approx. 16 km/h (SONdelux at 19 km/h). Thus, SON 28 is recommended if a lot of light is required at low speed or when either devices are to be operated or their batteries charged.
The new SON 28 is reminiscent of the SONdelux in structure and looks. In the standard version (non-disc), the flange distance is enlarged by 12 mm and the bearing distance by 10 mm as compared to the SONdelux. Disc versions are available as 6-hole and as center lock.
Compared to the SON 28 klassik (model years 2000 to 2011), the power consumption when no load applied is reduced by approx. 15% and the weight by 140g.
Guarantee period: 5 years
Includes Skewer and connectors for the headlight

Son 28 Hub Wheel
By John Millward

Hi
I have a dawes galaxy and I am looking for a front wheel with a son28 dyno hub. Size 700c - I do a lot of touring and ideally looking for a tubeless ready rim. I have shimano disc brakes with a six screw fitting.
Please advise.

SJS Customer Service:
Hi,
We don't have a pre-built wheel in the specification you want, but we'd be able to do a custom wheel build for you. All you need to do is add one of the disc SON 28 hubs to your basket along with one of our wheel build options and a rim of your choice (we do a few disc specific tubeless ready rims now so it would be worth having a look at what we have). The only thing to remember is to make sure all of the spoke numbers match up.
Thanks.
