Details
Handbuilt at SJSC by our Master Wheel builder with DT Swiss 14g spokes (Champion 260mm and 262mm), into a CR18, 48 hole silver Alloy rim. Solid Axle.

Ideal for upgrading the stock machine built rear wheel on many modern tandems, or makes a very heavy duty MTB or Touring wheel for a Solo

The Spin Doctor rear disc hub uses a bolt-on ball bearing cassette body with an integrated 3 pawl positive engagement drive. This places the 2 main hub sealed bearings on the outside of the hub (beyond the cassette body), providing superior axle support. The "outboard bearing" construction reduces axle flex and thus reduces bearing wear. When bolted together, the cassette and hub body become a strong, integrated unit, with 2 sealed cartridge main hub bearings and integrated Freehub looseball bearings.

Sweeping shell styling and minimalist type International Disc mounts provide a beautiful looking, strong, light, rear MTB hub.

Features:
- 6061 Alloy CNC machined shell
- International 6 bolt Disc Mounts
- Lightweight knurled alloy non-slip drop-out faces
- Bolt-on ball bearing integrated cassette body system
- Durable "outboard" sealed cartridge bearings
- M10 x 135 mm nutted solid axle
- Weight 1500g

Note: This wheel is not supplied with rim tape.

Strongest rear wheel if you're on a budget

Conscheap rim, 2.0 tires will fit but not ideal
ProsBuild quality, strength, price
Wanted a strong rear wheel as I'm 18 stone and ride an e-bike. The quality of the build is top notch and I wore out the braking surface on the rim before it ever saw a spoke wrench! The hub is great so I had it rebuilt with a more expensive but tougher Ryde Andra 30 and later had SJS build me a new custom wheel with this improved spec. If you want a tough, budget wheel and you're lighter than me and clean your rim/blocks occasionally you won't regret getting this. If not (or if you run wide tires) an SJS custom build is the way to go.

Rim Tandem suitability
By
04 Feb 2019
I recently managed to burst the Rigida Snyper rim on the back wheel of my MTB tandem whilst running a 26 x 1.96 slick at 60 psi. Although I have broken the odd spoke on the drive side in the past, this is the first time I have ever ruined a rim. My partner and I weigh approximately 160 kg in total. Will this wheel stand up to light unladen off road riding?
Strong wheel built in house, 48 spokes.
Suitable upgrade for a serious tandem cyclist.

Many thanks

14 mm axle
By
18 Mar 2018
Hello,

I have a somewhat unique hub on a cargo bike, which i’m attempting to replace. It has a 14mm bolt on axle, threaded freewheel, disc, 48 hole. I read somewhere that Halo hubs can be retrofitted with 14mm axle stubs. Would that be possible with this wheel?
Hi there,

Yes this is possible, of course this hub uses a cassette rather than a freewheel but a simple cassette change has no compatibility issues normally.

The 14mm adapters are a special order item, please contact our sales team to arrange - Part code - HUHASDA4

Thanks

Tandem Use?

Sounds like a good low cost tandem rear wheel. Are these hubs up to it?
Hi,

These hubs are indeed strong enough for use in a tandem.

Thanks.

Can I Use 2.0" Tyres With This Rim?
By
09 May 2016
Currently have a Halo sas wheel, which I believe uses the same hub as this wheel, and run 2.0" tyres ok, would the same tyres fit this rim/
Hi,

This would be able to accept 2" tyres, but that would be the widest we'd recommend fitting.

Thanks.

Hi, please. Which is the exact length for both sides, cassette and disc brake spokes. I like to buy it separately as a spare parts.
Hi,

The drive side spokes are 260mm in length and the non-drive side spokes are 262mm in length.

Thanks.
Will This Wheel Fit On A Mountain Bike?
By
26 Feb 2014
Axle looks quite wide. Plus is this suited to rim brakes. My mountain bike is pre disc brakes era.
Hi

This wheel is for 26" (559) mountain bikes with a 135mm OLN (Over Lock Nut) measurement, to check your bike remove the existing wheel & measure the inside distance between the dropouts, if its 135mm then it will fit fine. Whilst the wheel has a hub that's for disc brakes it can still be used with rim brakes as the rim has a braking surface.

Rim 48 Holes
By
01 Feb 2014
Hi,
please, wich is the profile section of the rim? Brand and model? And the model of spokes?

Thanks in advance!!
Hi,

By profile I assume you mean width of the rim in which it has a 17mm internal and a 23mm external size. The Rim as it says in the title is a non-model Rigida rim. The spokes as it says in the description are DT Swiss standard straight 14gauge spokes.

Thanks.
